 Results Leaders

Leadership is typically looked at as a position or ranking within an organization.  At Results we believe it’s something everyone is capable of because it’s simply the decision to help others grow. Below are some of our fantastic Results family members and the years of impact they’ve had on helping us and other members grow!   Click below to meet some of our Leaders - check back often to see the newest leaders to emerge.

Dave Leo – Since 2008

How long have you been a member at Results?

  • September 2008. It was a Saturday. I picked up my son from the airport. From the airport he brought me to Results. That was the day I signed up. I’ll never forget it.

Why did you decide to join Results?

  • My son. He’s the reason I joined Results 10 years ago. I knew I wanted to work on gaining weight and muscle mass but I had to no clue how to get there.

What keeps you coming back to Results?

  • To be healthy and keeping it a part of my lifestyle and to control my cholesterol levels. Also the knowledge you gain. Meeting with the nutritionist is not enough; you have to apply those behaviors. Once you do that, you start to see results and that’s motivating. Even after 10 years of being here, I still weigh in weekly to hold myself accountable.

What advice do you have for beginners at Results? Nutrition? Training? What helped you?

  • It has to be a lifestyle. You’re going to be sore in the beginning but you have to stick with it. You have to look forward to coming in and have a lot of self-determination and patience. With time, I increased my weight like I wanted and learned a lot about how to take care of myself. How to take care of my joints. Meet with the nutritionist but know you have to do a lot on your own. When I see the results from the doctor, it makes me want to come back. I look forward to coming in every time.

How has Results changed your quality of life?

  • I used to be an administrator at A&M University and it was very stressful. Working out makes me feel better and has helped my stress levels tremendously since I started working out.

How likely are you to refer a friend?

  • Very likely. Friends complement me on my weight and energy all the time. I tell them go to Results, they won’t bite.

What was your goal when you started?

  • Gain weight

What held you back from hitting your goals in the past?

  • I wasn’t interested in exercising. I cared about my health but exercising wasn’t in the picture. My son was working out and doing bodybuilding competitions but it never motivated me to want to work out. It wasn’t until I joined Results I wanted to work out.

Did you reach your goal? Has it changed over the years?

  • Yes, I met my goal as far as increasing my weight. I went overboard about 10lbs and then I had to come back down, which I did in the summer of 2014. That’s the year I started using the nutritionist. I’ve made many friends here at Results and we motivate and hold one another accountable.

What is your current goal?

  • To continue to exercise. To keep building as much muscle mass as I can. I’m 66 years old. As I get older it becomes harder to keep muscle. You have a body. You have limbs. You have to use them. Keep moving and stay healthy!

What’s the difference from other gyms and Results?

  • I don’t know the answer to that because Results is the only gym I’ve ever been to. That should tell you how much I like it here.

How long have you been a member at results?
July 2011. It had been a year since I had my back surgery. I had just gotten out of my wheel chair and started using 2 canes. When I walked in I knew this wasn’t like a regular gym and that intrigued me. I realize once I got here that you work your own body with the equipment not like machines

Why did you decide to join results?
To rehab my body from my recent back surgery

What keeps you coming back to results?
The trainers keep me coming back because they are always challenging me. The variety of trainers keep me on my toes.

What advice do you have for beginners results? Nutrition? Training? What helped you?
They really know their stuff when it comes to nutrition. And you have to drink a lot of water because it helps with recovery. It was a struggle to drink that much water at first but when I started drinking more the benefit made it worth it. If you need a modification for an exercise don’t hesitate to ask. These guys can come up with anything for you to do no matter what limitation or injury you have. And more importantly those modifications are effective.

How has results change your quality of life?
For me I was trying to get my life back. I can get out of my own bed no problem. I’m stronger than ever. I’m able to do my every day things with no limitations.

How likely are you to a refer a friend?
I know people that have been in the same boat I was when I started. I talk to people at different doctors offices and tell them about results and how it has help me.

What was your goal when you started? What is your current goal?
Current- recovering from injuries.
When I started-having more range of motion with no pain

What has held you back from hitting your goals in the past?
I worked out my 20s but then when I got into my 30s I pretty much stopped. Schedule changed and eventually stopped working out. The gym was right down the street from where I live and then I moved and it was no longer convenient to me.

Did you reach your goal? Has it changed over the years?
Yes

How long have you been a member at Results? 12/2011

  • I was terrified. I felt like I needed a drink because I was so scared. That soon changed after I started going. Most gyms are intimidating but Results is different. They welcome you with open arms and push you the way you need to be.

Why did you decide to join Results?

  • My mom has C.O.P.D. and when I saw my mom’s quality of life going downhill, I decided I had to do something about mine. I knew I was headed towards Diabetes because it ran in my family. My mom is addicted to nicotine and I was addicted to food. I’m still addicted to food but I have the knowledge and balance I need to control it.

What keeps you coming back to Results?

  • Because I feel like family when I walk in. My trainers care and they know me and my goals. They pay attention and take you as you are. They meet you at whatever level you’re at.

What advice do you have for beginners at Results? Nutrition? Training? What helped you?

  • Just keep coming back and listen to your trainers. Just do what they say. They’re truly there to help you!

How has Results changed your quality of life?

  • It saved my life. They helped give me the quality of life I needed because I want to be able to take care of myself when I’m older.

How likely are you to refer a friend?

  • Absolutely! Very likely. I tell everyone what Results has done for me.

What was your goal when you started?

  • To start moving and get off the couch

What is your current goal?

  • Right now I’m training for my 3rd Spartan and I want to ring the bell at the finish!

What held you back from hitting your goals in the past?

  • Self-doubt. Self-sabotage. I had always quit when it got hard. This is the only place I haven’t quit.

Did you reach your goal? Has it changed over the years?

  • Yes, because I live a healthier lifestyle. My mindset has evolved and I now climb mountains, literally. I owe it to myself to be healthy.

What’s the difference from other gyms and Results?

  • The personal trainers. The value for what you get. Its affordable personal training and I wouldn’t get what I get here anywhere else. You feel like family when right when you walk through the door.
